1 跑得很慢，体重很重，逮不到可以吃的动物
2 claw和素食动物很像，有个钩子，可以把树枝拉到自己跟前吃。
3 jaw和teeth跟素食动物很像
Listening:
反驳
1 M跑得是很慢，但是有一种动物G比它跑的还慢。G好像有什么保护
壳，但是M的力气足够把G翻过来，然后再攻击。
2 M的arm structure可以移动地很快，就可以攻击别的动物，像现在的老虎和熊一样。
所以肯定不是只用来拉树枝的。
3 M的jaw和素食动物的不像。素食动物的jaw可以move from side to side,但是为了嚼草用的，但是M的就不能。

听力反驳：
1、人是从prairie东部迁徙过去的，但是bison decline是从西边开始的，东部也吃野牛，但是数量没有下降。
2、bison可以在寒冷的天气下生存，很tough，有很厚的fur还可以吃雪下面的草，而cattle和horse在冷环境下无法存活。
3、过去的科技枪支也能打的很quick和efficient，所以不是科技的事儿

Integrated writing:
Manufacturing fuel generated from algae（藻类燃料）是最近能源研发的新成就，可能会成为解决人类能源问题的新方案。但是阅读文章认为把algae fuel大规模投入使用和制造是存在一些顾虑的，三个要点如下：
1. 养殖algae需要大量的土地和水源投入。人类社会正在面临着有史以来最严重的资源短缺，很多地区都出现了饥荒，干旱等灾难。这时如果再把珍贵资源投入algae farming显得本末倒置，影响更多人的生活。
2. 养殖algae需要昂贵的facilities，cost过大。为了set up一个algae养殖场，人们需要购买一些昂贵的machines比如一个pump tank来处理气体，还需要对工作人员进行相应的培训，所以很有可能会收不回成本。
3. 养殖algae需要大量的Carbon Dioxide（CO2）。空气中的CO2对algae的生长还不够，需要人工制造并再灌入一些。而在这一过程中CO2不能被algae全部吸收，多余的只能排放到大气，增加大气中的温室气体，进一步污染环境。
Listening中professor明确支持algae fuel的应用，阅读中的三个观点被她逐一反驳：
1. 养殖algae的土地和水源不会造成影响，因为algae对水源和土地并不挑剔。Dirty water，sea water等不能用于农作物灌溉的水源都可以用来培育algae；同样的，人们也可以用一些infertile的土地来farm algae。
2. 养殖algae的确需要很大的start-up cost，但是profit远大于cost。和corn等一年一熟或两熟常规作物不一样，algae一年里能被regrow20多次...也就是说，养殖algae的收获率巨大，弥补了一开始的支出。
3. 养殖algae需要的CO2不一定非要是newly generated的，和第一个点一样，algae对生长条件非常insensitive，人们完全可以把waste CO2 released by factories放进pump tank，然后将其注入algae的生长环境。这样一来，algae fuel production不但没有进一步增加碳排放污染环境，反而缓解了现有的污染。

阅读: 限速（lower speed limit）好处多多
1、可以减少serious accidents
2、可以减少尾气emission，提升air quality
3、会带来经济效益，更低的速度可以可以减少汽油的耗费从而省钱
听力:限速确实有好处，但效果不明显：
1、serious accidents的减少可能是其他因素引起的，如better road condition & car equipment
2、其实并没有改善环境呀，只有0.1%的减少，空气质量还是poor
3、浪费了drivers的时间，货物运输时间变长了，使得成本也高了。

植物的叶子在夜间闭合的三个理论（plants fold leaves at night）
阅读：
第一个理论：有助于保温 protection against losing heat。
第二个理论：防止真菌感染 protection against fungal spores infection，不让雨水进去。
第三个理论：避免接受月光，以此跟随季节变化。
听力
第一个理论：没有帮助，因为植物没有internal heat，在遇到冷的天气，尤其是冰点以下时不能避免冻害。
第二个理论：下雨时即便叶子闭合，也会有少量雨水进入，而真菌fugal spores只需要少量雨水即可，因此事没有意义的。
第三个理论：举了一个反例。在一些denser的森林中，有些植物即便在树荫下接收不到月光，也会比和叶子，因此需要他的解释。

综合写作：
阅读与听力争论著名的Pearl Poet到底是谁。
第一段：
阅读：John Massey住在英国西北部，这里那四首诗出产的地方，并且John Massey和的Pearl Poet的笔迹一样。
听力：那个时候的很多诗歌都是由许多专业的抄写人员完成的，笔记一样也不能说明问题。
第二段：
阅读：认为是Hugh，因为他写了关于Garwain的诗歌，而四首著名的手抄诗也有关于Garwain的。另外写作里都用了大量的alliteration。
听力：Pearl Poet和Hugh在诗里用的方言完全不一样。
第三段：
阅读：四首诗的作者可能不是一个人，因为诗里分别提到了英格兰不同的地区。
听力：不能是几个人，因为四首诗里的用词很相近，不可能不同作者用完全一样的遣词造句。

综合写作：关于土拨鼠的。阅读里面说土拨鼠是农业的pest，他们身上的病毒或者疾病会传染人，而且他们在生态系统中的地位不高。
然后听力中教授说，现在研究说明土拨鼠不是pest，有土拨鼠的地方，grass更加fertile;然后说它们身上的东西不传染人，而且数据显示每年接触土拨鼠的人很少;然后说食物链中的每一个都很重要，破坏一个就可能有消极影响。

3.如果因为协议而勉强教学的老师也不会受到学生喜爱，因为学生不喜欢带着情绪上课的老师。

尽管本身人口少，但是占领别人国土后，鼓励外国人加入军队。

1.士兵中大部分都不是本国人，有的还和敌人是同族，他们并不忠诚，甚至想要build their own army
2.后期统治者做了很多错误的决定，可是没有人能反驳，比如为了自己的私欲建造了很多的宫殿palaces这反而削弱weaken了罗马得实力。
3.在罗马帝国崛起的过程中，正是由于税收过高，大多数农民都承受不起，所以怀恨在心，最后投向了敌人。

READING
3 possible solutions.

在原有产品基础上推出改良产品。例子是soft beverage

New versions of products will offend the previous old consumers because they will feel old-fashioned if they still purchase the old versions. The overall sales will decrease.

People buy the tractors because they represent certain qualities like toughness. But that doesn’t mean the boots have the same quality. The company’s reputation will decline due to the failure of the boots with bad quality.
3.合作关系会转为竞争关系
Although the combination products can attract consumers at the beginning, the chocolate company will later considering launching ice cream and become a competitor of its partner.

1.Climate change.
Small body can adjust to hot temperatures, so human brain shrinks in accordance with the body.

Smaller brain fits the diet when people start eating grain, with protein and vitamin in it.
3.Changes in human muscle mass
Human muscles have shrunk, which leads to the decline of muscle-controlling brain.

1.过去温度也在变化，但人脑持续变大，所以人脑大小和气温无关
The size of human brain has nothing to do with temperatures. The brain keeps getting larger and large no matter temperatures go up or fall down.
2.有些地区最近才有生活方式的改变，但人脑变小在全球几乎是同一时间发生，所以不可能。
Lifestyle appears in different times. There was no such trend in Australia and South Africa until recently. Yet the decline of human brain occurs at the same time around the world. So this assumption cannot be true.
3.肌肉群知识略有缩小，而人脑变小了很多，所以这不可能是主要原因。
The size of human muscle mass only decrease slightly, yet brain size gets much smaller. So this cannot be the major reason.

综合写作：住在American southwest的一群人的消失

2.这些大坝在他们消失一百年前就有了，而且根据记载，这些大坝时为了抵抗一个长达50年的干旱而建立的，同时也证明了他们的capacity of surviving through drought
3.人们的消失还有别的因素可以导致比如war。而且确实有迹象表明这些人因为某些问题产生了conflicts，有可能时别的文明drive them away

READING

1.有中央集权的army，这些states没有正规军队，而且周边的defensive wall早就被毁了。
2.当时已经有irrigation system，可以从远处调水，而且储存的食物也足够度过。
3.帝国和周边states的不平等贸易，即使是这样，但是帝国和东边的比如Idian等新的partner合作，可以弥补损失的部分

综合写作：The TLP phenomenon
Three hypotheses.
1.并非真实的现象，而是observational error
2.光来自meteor striking
3.月球表面有发光的岩石

反对
1.如果instrument design引起的问题，那么这个现象应该randomly发生，但是所有被spot的现象出现在月球表面的两个location
2.Meteor striking的光只能维持一秒钟，但是TLP维持了20分钟。虽然流星雨meteor showers能维持很久，但是当TLP被发现的时候月球上并没有流星雨
3.岩石虽然能发光，但是他们的光线很弱，研究人员一般再晚上观察，本身不发光的月球会反射的sunlight比rock的光要更明亮，所以人们观察不到。就好像再power light面前看不到candle的光。

阅读材料：商业广告不吸引人了，商家用＂BUZZER＂来做广告。三大弊端：CUSTOM失去了真相，CONSUMER 被HARM，特别是给SOCIETY 带来了危害：人与人之间失去了信任。
听力材料：一商学院的MARKETING 课请了一个BUZZER 来讲课。这一TELEPHONECOMPANY 的BUSSER 强烈抗议了READING 的论述。
* CUSTOM不但没有LOST THE TRUTH ABOUT THE PRODUCTS，而是真正用过PRODUCT 知道其好处的BUZZER 将TRUTH 告诉他们。
* CONSUMER 没被HARM，而是得到了BUZZER 殚精竭力的帮助。
* 危害社会更是瞎扯蛋，IN FACT，BUZZER 让大家都来相互帮助用上各种好产品，相互交流让世界更美好。
